Eng. ChandanaEdirisooriya was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Board with effect from 05th January 2021. Eng. Edirisooriya concurrently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Mahaweli Consultancy Bureau, National Director of the Climate Resilient Integrated Water Management Project (CRIWMP) and Director Productivity Improvement and Technical Audit Engineering at the Ministry of Irrigation.
Eng. ChandanaEdirisooriya completed his B.Sc Engineering (Hon’s) degree from University of Morartuwa and followed by completing his M.Sc. Eng. Edirisooriya is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Vocational Technology, Ratmalana. He has followed a Diploma in Commercial Arbitration and is an expert in Procurement too.
Eng. Edirisooriya held positions such as former Asst. Director (Engineering) & Technical Auditor at Ministry of Highways, Ports & Shipping and was also the Quality Control Assurance Engineer at TOA Corporation Singapore

Eng. D.M.N.J.Dhanapala

Appointed to the Board of Directors, Mahaweli Consultancy Bureau Pvt Ltd from 05th January 2022 and currently serves as Deputy Director General (Technical Services) and Director (Water Management Secretariat), Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka.
Eng. Dhanapala D.M.N.J. completed his Bachelor of the Science of Engineering from Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya in Specialization of Civil Engineering in year 1999 and obtained his Master of the Science of Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya in Specialization of Environmental and Water Engineering in year 2015.
He started his career as a Civil Engineer in Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka in the year 2000 and served many positions including Project Engineer (Mahaweli Restructuring and Rehabilitation Project, System H, 2000 - 2005), Civil Engineer (Kalaoya River Basin Organization, 2005-2009), Deputy Resident Project Manager (Technical Service, System L, 2009 – 2010), Project Director (Kiuloya Reservoir Project, Welioya, 2010 – 2020), Deputy Project Director (Umaoya Multipurpose Development Project, 2015 – 2019), Deputy Director (Mechanical Workshop, Thambuththegama, 2016 – 2021), Project Director (Maduruoya Right Bank Development Project, 2019 – 2021).

Mr. Y.M.S. Gunasekera was appointed as a Director of the Board with effect from 05th January 2022 and currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Ministry of Irrigation as well as the Finance Manager of Mahaweli Water Security Investment Programme.
He completed his Bachelor degree in Public Administration from University of Sri Jayawardenapura followed by Master of Economics from University of Kelaniya.
Mr. Gunasekera Joined the Accountant’s Service in 1991. He has vast experience in working as an Accountant at the Divisional Secretariats, Zonal Education office Nuwaraeliya, Municipal Council Nuwaraeliya and the Education for Knowledge Society Project. He also worked as the Chief Accountant (Procurement) and Chief Financial Officer at the Ministry of Education before joining the Ministry of Irrigation.

Ms. DarshaniSamarawickrama was appointed as the Company Secretary cum Legal Officer of Mahaweli Consultancy Bureau with effect from 05th July 2019. She currently serves as the Assistant Director (Legal) of Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka.
Ms. DarshaniSamarawickrama completed her Master of Laws from Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK) and also followed the Diploma in International Relations from Bandaranayaka Centre for International Studies.
Ms. Samarawickrama has experience working with Mr. KalingaIndratissa (President’s Council) and working as the Legal Officer and Board Secretary at the Atomic Energy Board and National Youth Service Council Maharagama. She currently deals with matters of the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka and Mahaweli Consultancy Bureau. Ms. Samarawickrama is working closely with Councils at the Attorney General’s Department. She liaises closely with Private Bar President Councils during MASL Legal hearings.
